Mercedes-Benz Biome, 2010

We just can't get enough of all the crazy concept cars as of late. The Mercedes-BenzBiome concept car doesn't just have a sleek and curvy body, it's also the first car that we heard of that is "grown." How exactly does it work?

According to Mercedes-Benz, the Biome uses what is called the Symbiosis system. In this process the vehicle acts like leaves on a tree — collecting solar energy to power the vehicle.
The Biome is grown inside of a "nursery" — specifically molded to the driver's particular desires. The shape would theoretically be based off these little bits of human "DNA" — making two Biomes similar but probably never exactly the same. The Biome's wheels are grown from four different seeds to give it its rounded puffy shape.
The entire concept project would also have Mercedes-Benz retrofitting trees with receptors to collect more solar energy, creating a sustainable ecosystem for all the Biomes on the street.
In a utopian world, the Biome would be the only car everyone would drive. Then again, this car is by Mercedes-Benz meaning it probably wouldn't be affordable for most families.
Mercedes-Benz Biome is a car that is 'grown' from 'seeds'
